RB I think flint isn't really found in our specific area. When you find flint it is mostly deposited here (left behind) by the natives as a by-product of thier tool making. Further toward the mountains it is more common.

Now if you ever get up to Morrow Mountain in Albemarle the place is covered in rhyolite which was a major quarry for native peoples in NC. Points made from Morrow Mountain rhyolite have been found from Florida to Maine due to the trading that they did.
