Leave off the 20 and see if they let it go from that.
The "normal" ID would be the first three letters for the manufacturer, the next 5 numbers would be the hull serial number, the next 2 characters would be the date of manufacture and the last 2 would be the year.
For instance an Ashcraft I have has the ID as ASH (manufacturer), 01084 (hull serial number), C4 (date code), 94 (year model).
My Wellcraft has WEL02524M75I-V20 on the hull ID but I only have it registered with the first 12 characters.
