Re: My New Boat Pics - Just One More
Well,
I'll be the first to admit that the FIRST V-20 turned into a bigger project than expected (or wanted). Buying the 2nd boat just seemed to make sense since I have a month's worth of glass work to do on the old boat, then repower. I got the new boat for less than half what the engine would cost me (before I invested some money in fixing up the trailer).
I've decided to replace all the BELLOWS on Just One More before I put her back into the water. The exhaust bellows is swiss cheese, and I have no idea what the shaft bellows looks like (yet). But I don't want to risk it.
Two boats... well I (unfortunately) have to live in two places because of work... so when the project boat get's done, it may just stay in Wilmington and I'll keep the other here on the Chesapeake. That's the wild idea... given the expense of trailering up and down I-95, the two boat option might work. But I suspect the Project boat might get sold once the hulls in clean shape, or maybe after repower.
You guys would really think I was crazy.... but Capt. Bill (who I actually works with me here in MD) had to talk me out of going to look at this CC V20 in Baltimore last week... at that point it seemed like it'd go for under a $1000 for the hull and trailer... and I figured the yard in Wilmington is pretty damn big and I'm getting practice fixing these things. V20 Fever.
