I quit the day my first daughter was born. I went from two packs a day to 2 cigs one day, to 0 the next 13 years. My motivation(besides not wanting my children to be subjected to me smoking) was remembering how hard the first day was, that got me thur the first week, then realizing how hard the first week was, that got me thru the first month, the first month got me thru the first year. The first year thru to now. Know how hard the past days, months, years were, and knowing it would get easier kept me from going back. If any of your friends smoke, stay away from them. I quit 5 years before and went back two years later because everyone I knew or hung around smoked, it made it that much harder the second time I quit.
