daydreamer, I believe the tax credit only applies if you take ACA insurance, not your private plan. from the way your post reads,its sounds like you are applying the tax credit to your personal plan. Everything I've read says that the tax credit only applies to O care enrollment. I may be wrong, but its based on what I've read. If the guy on the phone said so, I'd get his name and number, have him fax a copy of it to you with his signature on it. BTW, what kind of deductible, out of pocket difference did you get? My sister lives in Wake Forest, shes been trying to get some answers from the help line, so far she said they don't qualify for any tax credits, and the cost of insurance on a `10K/10K plan is %70 percent higher than what they were paying with a 5k/5k plan. They are self employed, run a small business, and don't make much money.
