Check with Humana. I have it on authority that they have some good deals for retirees.

Individual policies get hit with the hike before the group plans will.

Penalty for not paying for coverage is expected to ramp up. In 2014 it is $95 for adults $47.50 for a child or 1% of your gross pay whichever is greater. In 2015 it is $325 for adults and $162.50 per child or 2% of your gross. 2016 it is $695 adult or $347.50 per child or 2.5% of your gross. When you opt out you won't know what the penalty is until the date of enrollment is long past, so your screwed either way. I just love the fact that out government has put a fee on children whose parents work to support them. What a slap in the phucking face for the working class. None of this applies to the deadbeats on welfare. They pay nothing, ever. So we just increased the load on the working/taxpayer. Expanding the Medicaid program to include millions of additional enrollees who contribute bupkiss. (Florida did not go this route actually)

According to the healthcare guru we spoke with today, nothing in stone yet but the group rates from Aetna are going up, Ballpark of 30%.

Hard to wrap your mind around 30% increase in premium every year with declining coverage and lots more out-of-pocket to boot. That is what we have seen every year since they passed this tripe. So it is compounding.
I know I sound like a broken record. On the record, the system it is broken.
Smoke- Maybe the co-conspirators to this could be hung for treason. I have been saying that for a while.

Please, somebody chime in and tell me about a real life success story regarding O-care. This is depressing, which may require meds.

Ferm,
I think about you every day. How you are suffering with your hip. I hope and pray you good health my friend. I am gonna call you but don't want to be a PITA to you and Patrick. Call me when you get free, 1-800-282-3178.

Thanks for letting me vent.
