The 5.2L runs OK, if you think it's quick you should drive one with a 4.7L in it. As for the A/C, the evaporator cores in them were known to fail. not to bad of a job if you know what your doing. I used to do them in just over 2 hours. At the age of the truck it could also be a compressor. They tend to be pretty good for 10-12 years, but after that the shaft seal can start to leak at anytime. And if it starts to mysteriously use oil, open the throttle up and look down into the intake for oil. The intake plenum gaskets are known to blow out and let oil suck through on the 3.9L, 5.2L, and 5.9L.
