Is there a way a tech can scope it out without pulling the powerhead off?

I'm sure dropping the foot would allow them to use a bore scope and look up inside it. From what I found, they say the 04 and back F225's seem to have the most problems. And while the foot is off you can have the water pump checked to make sure it has been maintained, and that the foot isn't froze on.
