No joke a tornado came through our 123 acre lease last November. It took out over 40 acres of hardwoods. Big hardwoods. Total devastation about 150 yards wide. It was during hunting season. Came through about 6 pm - when I would normally be coming down from my stand. That evening I did not hunt due to my daughter's athletic banquet. There is no way I would've made it out alive. It tore a trail right through my stand all the way to where I park the truck......and kept going another several MILES. I had a cousin lose a house, nearly their lives, and another good friend who's parents lost thier house. A couple people died nearby. Terrible terrible situation. I'd be really really surprised if no deer were swept up in that thing. I was driving with my daughter right through its path when it happened. It actually came thru just ahead of us, luckily. The most aweful wind and debris I'd ever seen. Then we got to a spot where there were trees across the road and has to turn around. We were pretty lucky that day, more ways than one. I only lost a deerstand and some trees. Here is a link to the story from the local paper:
