BLACK duct tape....

Welcome to the site MuttonSnapper. We are all novices at one time or another. As to your question on removing the wires, although I cannot speak from direct experience on your particular engine, I can say that if your engine is like most of the engines I've worked on through the years they were all made to simply plug into a connector. Usually just 3 main wires.. One battery positive, One battery negative and a bundled cable that plugged into the engine's electrical system. Simple stuff really. About a 2 on a scale of 1 to 10. Some of the other guys on here have direct experience on your engine and I'm sure they will be happy to answer your question accurately.

If God didn't have a purpose for us we wouldn't be here, so
Live simply, Love generously, Care deeply, Speak kindly.
(Leave the rest to God)

Silence, in the face of evil, is itself evil. Not to speak is to speak, not to act is to act. God will not hold us guiltless.
