Wrap it in Shrink Wrap or even Saran Wrap .....then foam it in place. The foam will expand, cling to the plastic wrap and form a cavity in the shape of the tank, but will not actually cling to the tank....so if you ever need to remove it all you'll have to do is cut the plastic wrap and lift it out. Simple really.
