Sorry Greene...but that's an old Wive's Tale...think about it...if that loop is full of water or any other liquid, and the motor starts drawing fuel from the tank, what's gonna happen?...it's gonna suck that water right into the tank...if it doesn't, then it'll clog the vent and eventually stall the motor...
