To ME it seems you are taking your job security away from corporate management and placing it in your union bosses hands who will determine when you will work.

With all of the money you put into savings every week, why do you not just buy stock in the company you work for? If their policies are such that you need the union to protect you from their corporate greed, you could benefit from that greed on the backside through dividends. Maybe you do now and if so it would seem you would be in a quandry with your union.

I have family that live in New Jersey and rely on the unions to put them on the docks in Philly where they haul cargo so what I know of unions is probably very different than your life's experiences so I would like to hear your side of what unions do for you.
Tartuffe, there are different kinds of unions... some are what I will call piecemeal unions, (Jobshops) like the carpenters or the ironworkers, others are in house unions, like the IBEW for power & light companies, or the Transit workers, like the Engineers and conductors for the MTA. Charlie belongs to the later type of union, so he's not dependant on the union bosses for the next job like the piecemeal types of unions.

The rest of this post was supposed to be right after Willys first post. Unfortunately, the server timed out before it would post, and then I had to leave my desk and go do something for my company so I didn't get a chance to repost it. It was written in response to and in support of Willys first post, so if it seems a little out of sync, blame the server :)

And that is exacty why you need to pull the lever for Romney. He was not my first choice either, but when you stack what he had done in his lifetime against what the imposter has done in his lifetime the choice is obvious... I'll take Romney every time.. it's no contest.

Look...here, in a nutshell, are your choices:

You can vote for the imposter... you will be voting to turn America further into a Socialist Country, loss of more of your freedoms, loss of more jobs, higher taxes, and more than likely the onset of the worst recession in our Country's history (Including the great depression). This is a man that spent his entire life surrounded by avowed marxists, both as friends and as professors that he learned from. A man who, to this day, has people like that as his closest advisors. A man who has spent more money in his first 3 1/2 years as president than all the other presidents in our Country COMBINED!! An admitted drug user in college (Weed and Coke). A racist, bigoted, bloviated, ignoramus who doesn't understand the first thing about business or running a Country. A man that is weakening our Country by cutting our military to the bone so he can help pay for a bunch of free giveaways to over 50% of the population that pays no taxes. (He's buying their votes). (And stealing your money in the process)

You can vote for Romney... you will be voting for an avowed capitalist who has made a fortune in the business world. He has an 80% success rate for turning companies around and making them profitable, creating tens of thousands (yes thousands) of jobs in the process, including Staples, Sealy, Brookstone, The Sports Authority, and Domino's. Also, in late 1998, the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City was rocked by a bribery scandal that threatened the Games. (The top two officials in the Salt Lake Organizing Committee had to resign). The games were facing a $379 million deficit because sponsors were pulling out. Since they were short on money and many venues hadn't been built yet, politicians, business leaders and International Olympic Committee officials were suggesting the games be cancelled or moved to another location. Because of his record for turning around businesses in the past, Romney was asked to take over the failing Olympics; he became the CEO for the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in February of 1999. He refused a salary and even donated $1 million of his own money to the cause. He then streamlined the games by cutting costs and eliminating waste like fancy perks. Romney also brought in $180 million in revenue from new sponsors and broke the record for raising private money for an Olympics - winter or summer. In the end, the Olympics were a success and the games actually turned a $100 million profit. Romney saved the 2002 Olympic Games.

Much has been said of his tenure as Governor of Mass, so lets look at the record. He became governor of Massachusetts in January of 2003, and faced an immediate budget crisis. The state had a $650 million shortfall and was facing a projected deficit of $3 billion the following year. Romney came in and cut spending and eliminated waste in government by cutting out duplication and inefficiencies. In one case he consolidated 15 different human service agencies, all doing basically the same thing. He also cut the number of state employees. He raised some fees but did not raise taxes and he balanced the budget every year. (The unemployment rate in Massachusetts also fell from 6.3% when he took office in January of 2003 to 4.6% by June of 2007, the end of his last fiscal year). He also passed healthcare reform covering nearly everybody in the state, and did so without raising taxes and using private sector insurance. All of these things are easily found on the internet if you just look. They are facts, not just the hyperbole that his opponents are throwing around trying to make you vote for the imposter by getting you to fear Romney.

He's far from perfect, but I know that my freedom and my Country's very existance will be safe under his reign. Truthfully, I cannot say the same under the imposter.

So you can vote for the imposter, you can vote for Romney, or you can decide to not vote (Which really is a vote for the imposter) I hope you vote for Romney, even if you don't like all of him. There's a lot more to like than dislike. (And the future of your children depends on YOUR vote)
