Re: CB came over today!
Okay! Since you're gonna throw me under the bus, let's reveal the reason why you had to get wet. Knowing that you had no REVERSE!!!!!! and you put the boat onto the rocks and I had to jump off and drag the boat to the dock because you missed it completely, it's your own fault that you got wet.
No Phester, there were no plug issues. If only it were that simple. Once on the dock, MJ backed the trailer down. I attempted to motor the boat over to the trailer to winch it on. Well, the wind was blowing pretty strong and kept blowing us between the trailer and the dock. Once in a bad position, I had no reverse to back out and attempt another approach. And, apparently when you shift into neutral, the boat was still slightly in the forward gear making things worse.
We finally got the bow positioned at the end of the trailer. MJ has rubber boots that are calf high. He manages to get the cable to me and tell me to lean over to hook the bow eye. There's no way in hell I can reach down that far and told him so. MJ says screw it. One foot is a little wet already and starts wading in. Within a second or two, I said "Never mind. I got it" ;D ;D ;D Too late for MJ. He's already up over his knees in cold water. ;D I manged to get a lucky swing with the winch hook that clipped the bow eye just right.
Why is it there is always an audience on days like that? There were a couple of professional boat haulers at the ramp having a good time with our misadventures. We told them we lost reverse. They had already figured that and said they have days like that as well. No problem.
Turns out it was a simple cable adjustment. Not a big deal.
MJ did well. It's a really nice solid boat. Rides very nice. I can't wait to fish from it. 8)
