Generally speaking, it's a pain in the a$$ to get to anything under the hood of a modern day vehicle. That being said, unless there's something extra special about the Northstar engine that I don't know about (and that's very possible) I really can't see anything super difficult about changing a head gasket. If the only damage is just a blown head gasket, and the rest of the engine is ok and not damaged (warped heads, etc.) I'd think that repairing it would be a good idea......especially if it's nearly mint
