Default Thanksgiving Reds

Suwannee, 1 red/person/day in FL 18"-27" slot. Fishing on NV-19. Tides were running extra low, no place for the V to go.
Fri. was mom and I. Both reds in the picture were her's (24" and 21"). I caught two in the slot but not before she had both our keepers in the boat. We had to fish some to locate them but when found the bite was good. Landed three dozen from 14" to 17".
Sat. I took the girls, Melissa, mom and the wife had a good time catching. Temps in the mid 80's a little too hot for the tidal creeks yet but the redfish winter feeding pattern of fiddler crabs has started. Fishing with light spinning tackle, jigs tipped with frozen shrimp.
Melissa got a nice Croaker and the wife caught a nice blue cat (freshwater) only mustered two reds in the slot because we tried a different place closer to the house (ie more pressure) Still released a lot of shorts and a couple speck trout. By the first of the year it ought to be excellent.
