I keep hearing 2014 being thrown around..... There is one detail that is always left out of this discussion. One of the biggest items that was wanting to be addressed was denial of coverage to people with pre-existing conditions. I personally dont know anybody this has happened to but I could imagine if you were in that boat it would suck bad. So one of the parts of Obamacare is to force insurance companies to take people with pre existing conditions. Can anyone really say thats a bad thing? Now the insurance companies must take you with pre existing condition....so I dont carry health insurance, I get cancer, start paying insurance to a company and they are required by law to start treating me the next day. Who in their right mind is going carry insurance when they are healthy???? just wait until you get sick and then pick it up. It should be obvious that would never work.
So when everyone starts screaming about it being mandatory to carry insurance just remember when or if its repealled you are also getting rid of helping anyone with a pre existing condition.
I really cant understand why when someone is hit or injured by an uninsured motorist they are loser irresponsible dirt bags but we have no problem letting people walk around without health insurance. (although I dont consider those people irresponsible because it is financially not possible for most because of the rediculous prices) I know the argument is going be that states consider driving a privilige so you dont HAVE to buy car insurance if you dont want to drive but come on this country is based on the automobile so thats BS in my opinion.
I am not at all convinced that financially this program will work but I would like to see it implemented and then hopefully work out the bugs and try to at least get some improvements. The uncomprising call for a complete repeal is stupid in my opinion and being made by people who have health insurance and refuse to take the time to do some reasearch and find out what the ins and outs are of it....
