I've never been able to figure out how ppl could go thru the canal when there was a tide running without sinking their boats... Saw more than one boat almost swamp when they hit the waterfall effect of the outgoing tide hitting the slack water. It looks to be a several foot drop. I love fishing the canal at slack tide though... drift a bloodworm on a hook with no tackle.... almost like fly fishing..... (stripers just love drifting worms)...it's fun walking the bank watching the boats fight their way in and out through the canal. Haven't been there in a long while....think I'm gonna have to put it on the "must visit" list soon.
