Ok, Go for it. If you like the boat, throw caution to the wind. Transoms are always a must do on older boats so I think you should plan on that and stringers. You want it to last so think about composites, I like coosa. Epoxy or vinylester? How fast do you want to go? Hardtop, bimini? Extending the hull would be some kind of expensive but cool. A highly modified Alim may be the apple of your eye, but may not translate on paper is all I was saying. I am there, I have Reelapeelin's nice old 1973 Wellcraft hull with big plans. First thing to do is tear it down to the keel. Best I can describe my situation is "Failure to Launch". These boats love time and $$$ that I don't have right now. However, I am not against living vicariously thru your rebuild thread. I would love to see it. Welcome to the site BTW, you will fit in great. Wish I found this site before I did my boat.
