I went from a Merc 150 2 stroke to a Suzuki DF140 4 stroke( they didn't have a DF150 at the time). With an average load, I went from ~41 mph WOT down to ~36 mph WOT. If you're on a lake and can use the speed often, there is a noticable difference between the 140 and 150.

A MERC 150 2 stroke is a strong runner though compared to the 140 4 stroke SUZUKI. The 140 is probably pushing about 130-140 at the prop on a good day, whereas the 150 2 stroke was probably puttting 150+ easily to the prop. You can't beat the economy though of them 4 strokes.
