Guys looking for some advice on my fuel filter. I just purchased a v20 since the previous motor was no good I replaced it with a newly reconditioned 1991 Mercury 200 hp 2.5 l v6 outboard w/o the oil injection. The present filter looks to be a regular fuel filter. When I purchased the boat I was told it was last run this past summer. The fuel tank is at half.
My question is should I replace the present filter with a water seperator and do you think I could just top off the fuel tank with fresh gas, oil and a stabilizer. Our should I drain her down and start new?????
