2006 LLY -
One tank of bad fuel, water and SC red clay. It was knocking and smoking something fierce. Went into limp mode several times. Changed the filter and added fuel treatment and used all but 1/8 tank of the bad fuel. Filled up with fresh fuel another filter and more Lucas. It would run great for miles and miles then deteriorate. In limp mode I could run 70 in 6th gear. It really went to running bad as I crossed back into Florida. Fuel smoke or steam out the pipe to the point that someone called fire rescue.
Oil level never changed. But I am thinking water was getting thru the filter with all the smoke/steam.
Did I hurt it? I know diesel engines don't like water. Tough on pistons and injectors. What do you think?
