Just remember to use a ZINC CHROMATE or ZINCROM(the green colored stuff) etching primer on the lower unit and mid section, or anything in direct saltwater contact. The etching primer will help the paint adhere MUCh better than most any other primer can. And do not get it inside of the lower unit where the oil is or in the crankcase. It is an excellent primer, but oil will take it right off. I used it on a propshaft support before and got it on the inside portion of it and fluid turned to milk after just a few days. The primer came off and emulsified in the gear oil. Flushed it out and all was well afterwards. I figure if the stuff is good enough for aviation and is mandated by the FAA, then it must be good enough for a boat.
