Not sure about design sharing from one manufacturer to another. I checked one a picture of one for sale on the net. Hull looks real similar as you stated. Nice lines. There are a lot of boats designed with the bow flare and the steplift. My boat guru said to watch out for potential stringer issues with 1984-1986 as Chris Craft did not run the stringers far enough forward causing the owners lots of heartache. When pinned down on the model he could not say if the 216 was the one. The layout of the boat probably allows inspection of that part of the boat in the cabin. Welcome aboard.
