I run 2 Chesapeake style planer board and hook them to my bimini top frame. It is not much torque however I have hook them at spot where the front hooks to the pole mounts to the boat. The straps only hold the back of the bimini when it is open. Haven't had any problems so far but need to mark boards well and watch to make sure other boats don't run over them or could be serious problems. In the spring I had 100 ft lines on them and the would be only about 75 feet off side depending on speed. I am actually thinking of shortening them to 50 to 75 feet total because I only run 6 rods most of the time.Occasionally I'll run 8 but usually only 2 or 3 of us on the boat.I also try to stay away from all the crowds because too many stupid people out there.
