Very much affected by that day here in Jersey, many friends were lost. Some of my family living and working in the city were deeply distressed and we spent a lot of time attending services for loved ones and friends and neighbors.
I sent my officers into the city, about thirty minutes away to try and help and I now listen to the issues health wise of those officers.
Our nation was attacked, something we had not seen in our life times, at least mine anyhow.
I was incredibly overwhelmed by the unity and strength of regular Americans on that day, I was very moved and proud of us.
On this day I sit and type with tears forming in my eye as I remember.
To those that did us this harm and to those who have suffered at their hands I say to you " We will never forget"
