Thumbs up It was the battery shutoff switch!

The first summer of our new (1974) V-20 has been a series of afternoons troubleshooting various things. The longest unsolved issue was why the motor (1996 'Rude 115) was having trouble getting its starter to pop up. I thought of putting some viagra in the tank. You'd turn the key and hear electrical crackle under the hood, then the starter would spin but not pop up, and then after six or twelve tries, it would start the motor. Finally, my techno-motorhead buddy and personal engine savior pointed me in the right direction. To be fair, he told me to change out the Guest switch from the first time he met the motor. Replaced the switch and BINGO! She fires right up every time.
