First I would love to thank everyone for their help with this problem, never knew how hard it was to try to track down such a simple item. I called ez and talked to one of their engineers named Mike. That guy is wonderful. Took the time to look up old specs for trailers for me and spent at least an hour on the phone with me getting info. We came up with a good canidate for the axle. These are the specs.
spring center 70 1/4"
2x2 x 1/4" axle
hub face 86 1/2"
drop 3"
This sounds pretty close to the specs. I figure I will have to still go back and travel those 6 hours to get the actual specs but if they match it will make it easier to get the right size. Since I have these stats please feel free to confirm or deny these are the right axles for my trailer.
as a side note, if you have the vin number of your ezloader trailer they can actualy track as far back as 1983 for the actual engineering designs. That was a great help in our search because the 82 axle wasnt shown but 83 thru 86 used the exact same axle so we assumed that 82 used them also.
