The old style donot come with ends on them, whereas the new style are made to the cables.
I've just replaced with the type that was on the motor and never thought if the two were possibly interchangeable.
It does appear that you can replace the old style with the new style but I don't know if that is the case.
Hopefully Skools or Ferm can clear this up.
