I know Still, thanks Bob just pm'd you again.
When I went down with Franco to fish I picked up their inshore 7 footer Trevala, it is the sweetest casting rod I have, I use it for all kinds of inshore from fluke with jigs to casting spoons and plugs for whatever is busting the surf, last summer I had a monster blue take me on a workout with that rod and my favorite all around spinning reel, a Shimano Spheros, and it is as tough as they get and you can feel everything with them but still can put the wood to it and pull a fish around, plenty of backbone.
This combo with the Saragosa will give me the the next stage in fish fighting ability while still providing a a very sensitive feel.
I love old Penn reels, have several and still use them a lot, some are 40 years old. I like Diawa too, especially their version of the Calcutta, it is a better reel and a better price. I love my Abu Garcia's, they are the ones made in Sweden not china, they are like swiss watches, for inshore baitcasting reels they are my favorite.
But in spinning reels I think that Shimano gives you the best quality for a good price, not cheap but very good, I have two differnet size Spherosreels and they are tough and sweet to cast and have good drags, and they hold up to years of salt water use without a hiccup.JMHO
