air boats are illeagl for use in coastal waters of SC(unless you are dnr), so we don't see any around here. I don't know this for fact, but I understand most airboats use high time aircraft engines that have too many hours for aircraft use, most of those engines have somewhere around 7-8 to 1 compresion at best when new. The faa has issued specs and requirements to run regular gas in some popular aircarft engines while in use in aircraft. SO it shouldn't be that hard to convert one for an airboat. I've been told that Venice Fl is the airboat capital of the US, everyone has told me all the experts are down there
