Default Re: Remote spotlight???

I fish at night a lot and use lights at a bare minimum. I had a boat in the past that had a permanantly mounted remote control light to aim via the remote. The problem I have is with the "splash" of light that hits the deck and railings and whatnot in front of you and ruins your "nightvision". A good GPS with cartography will guide you through the night just fine. I utilize the GPS until I get into the harbor, then break out the rechargable handheld to weave around all the moorings.
Once you're out there in the dark and your eyes adjust to it, you'd be surprised how much you see without lights.

Oh btw; Using lights all the time will kill everyone else's vision on the water at night as well.
