The early loopers do idle ROUGH! My 85 140 sounded like a drag car at idle when I first got it. Try dropping your idle down a touch to see if that helps. The other option would be to try a set of composite reeds to smooth out the low speed airflow. Also need to make sure your throttle blades are all closing at idle. Not many people take the time to go through and set these things up right when they work on em. I finally started my 200 today after the rebuild and them BOYESONS REALLY smoothed out the idle. It would shake the boat to pieces idling before, and now I can't hardly feel it running. SURE CAN HEAR IT THOUGH!
