if you use the Racor, make sure it has the metal bowl for use on an I/O. The clear bowls are for outboard use only. You should have a secondary mounted on the fuel pump(looks like half an egg mounted on the pump), look at the fuel pump on the side of the block. there should be a band that goes over the top with a screw right in the middle, usually safety wired in place, cut the wire, back the screw off, push down on the band till you can free it from the housing, then remove it from the pump, teh filter is made of a ceramic material, they should be availble from mercruiser or several aftermarket companies
