Did the same thing on mine and haven't noticed any problems.
Can you get the loop in the hose higher to make it a little harder for the fuel climb up?
Looking at the picture, it looks like the hose drops below the top of the tank then back up to the vent.
Is it possible some fuel is trapped in that loop?
