The big question is, What will you be using it for? If for towing a V and general commuting, I would say NO. Unfortunately the price difference between diesel and gas has now taken away the milage advantage that diesel had over gas for years. If your looking at a bigger boat, and using the truck for towing and such and not commuting. Then I say, What are you waiting for? Don't let the naysayers fool you either. The DURAMAX has proven itself time and time again as a solid engine, and with a little work can be downright QUICK!

The big question is your usage as our current government is going to keep raisng the price of fuel, but diesel seems to be holding higher. And is currently being taxed much higher as well. And if your looking for some reading material, try here.
