I've asked this seller a million and 1 questions and everything checked out except one small detail - he sold another 225 Yamaha in Oct. to an eBay member that was astonishingly similar - new shift rod, appr. 650 hours, lower unit touched up, stored indoors etc.
That's all ok, but in looking over the Oct. auction details I noticed that 4 out of 7 of the pictures of that motor are the same exact photos as the ones for this motor!! Only the powerhead photos were different!! His explanation was that he's had 3 of these motors in the last 6 months that were nearly identical. He further states that he keeps his eBay verbiage in a word processor and only changes the things that are necessary from one item to the next....
I don't know about you, but photos of the actual motor should be necessary - I don't care how similar they are! In his ad, he says there is slight fading on the cowl that doesn't show up in the pictures - that's probably because the motor in the pictures is not the motor he's selling! Its the one from October!
This is probably a great motor and a decent buy, but I think its pretty bad to advertise this as the actual motor.
I'm really really dumb, but I wasn't born yesterday ;D
Here's the link for the October sale - see for yourself!

I'm scared to bid.
