They are the same height as the interior of the tank with holes trimmed in the side edges and bottom to allow the fuel to pass through. The best mental picture I can describe is to take a shoe box lid and cut it in half. Then stick the two halves into the shoe box evenly spaced with the sides with the "lip" down.
p.s. after thinking about it they are actually a little shorter than the interior height of the tank.
