Great information, the water was driving me crazy, I'm off to get some Startron for the gas. I wonder how many cars are going to have frozen gas lines this winter?.............

My Mercury telltale is very hot also but today I bought a IR thermometer, ran it around the lake a few times at 4600 rpm stopped the boat put it in neutral popped the cover open and the head...

You made me nervous about the motor that maybe a piston was melting down, so I did a compression test and everything was 118-120 psi same as before.........

I posted on the first page with links for seacast, our 74 has a seacast transom, I'm running a 150 with jackplate, I'll never have to replace it because of rot..................
