Seems to be a buyerRe: Help MJ find his next boat

WOW. Not a bad deal at all.

There's a '96 21' Trophy cuddy walk-around with a 200'rude locally for 12k.

Seems to be a buyers market on boats.

Re: 165 mercruiser motor needed

My 165 came from a rebuild outfit in South Carolina. It was 1800.oo. I'll try and find the location info. My wrench found it surfing the net. It came with a one year warranty and so far runs great.

Re: advise needed on engine size for a V20

I just replaced my 165 with a new longblock. ( 2K )
I considerd converting to OB on a bracket but, figured it'd end up being at least 10 grand. Goin' with a 5.7 had it's own issues others have...

Yep. Use Awl Grip. It'll stay and and look good for a looong time. You can get a nice job with it by rolling it on.

Oops...I might add...22 knts on a following sea. That's usually the situation I deal with. Same speed head on would be a beating for sure. :o

Re: Gorilla is in the House!

Those are great alarms. Easy to hook up...just hide it somewhere a baddie can't find to disarm. You can set the sensitivity to keep cats out too.

Re: my new engine

You sure do have IMO the best motor available. Let us know what they found out.

All our ramps are free here. I go out an average of 3 times a week.

Re: BGA's Maiden Voyage...

Boat looks great, If you wanna raise the aft end while under way try a Stingray outdrive fin. Like a Dolphin but, a lik' bigger....made for 20' boats. It'll help hop directly on plane. They're 50.oo....

Re: v20 seaworthness

I go out 15-30 miles to fish the gulfstream. Seas turn 6 to 8'...ugly fast. I bump the trim to lift the bow and the boat handles'm fine @ 22 knots.

What MJ sez. I used Yamalube at my mechanics suggestion and it was a rebuilt motor.

I also use Yamaha Ring Free every now and then.
