Re: sold my V and.......
I know the feeling. The lil' Bonita I had for the past 20 years has been sunk TWICE by the woman who bought it last month. Both times I raised and got it running for her. I regret selling it to her....

Re: Just a peek
Ol'engine blocks work perfect.
Those you have there should hold a V-20 thru anything.

Re: idea
I'd look into a canvas enclosure first. You could even fabricate on yourself for kicks. It would save alot on costs, weight and remain a mixed use boat.

Re: So tell me about the V-20 Cuddy ?
I love mine. The fact it's 30 years old and was dirt cheap is even better. My fishing buds with their 60K+ offshore sportsfishermans HATE seeing me out there...heheh.
Even worse they hate coming...

Re: What material is the fuel tank of a late 80's
Mine are aluminum. I had a leak. Fixed it with Marine Tex. No good. Cleaned that off and used JBweld. Worked great. A year later it's still good.
For plastic...I dunno. Maybe somekind of hot glue...

Re: Inspection hatches
I tho't about pouring two part closed cell foam under the floor but, figure it won't really help keep the boat afloat and if anything'll jus weight it down. You're idea of the noodles sounds better....

Re: Mooring chain
I've used that system to moor my boat for a few days at a time. I've always let it vane into the wind so the bow takes any wind driven waves. I also used SScable for my shore line so motorized dingys...

Re: 6 cylinder chevy
Welcome to the nuthouse. I have the same motor. I like it. It's about the right power and gets OK mileage. Flush it out with fresh water after use and it'll be fine.

Re: Rough Day on the Bay
Tho' I do enjoy a good sloshing....the St.Lucie Inlet can get pretty rough. I've seen waves stacked 6ft high and 20ft away from eachother. I've learned since to turn around and forget about goin' out...
