Re: Long_Island V-20

My '86 drains into the bilge. Pretty gnarly setup because first water drains onto the shelves that hold the batteries and VRO tank, then it runs down into the bilge.

Re: Long_Island V-20

Brian,

When I bought my V-20 I got it for a song because it has a Sea Drive on it. Nobody wants Sea Drives and even a running unit results in a discount in pricing (this was my experience anyway...

Hull ID #

I have been checking numbers on my motor and discovered my Sea Drive that I thought was a 1986 is actually a 1985. So now I'd like to verify the age of my hull. My hull ID # is WELF4173A686. Can...

Re: GPS Unit

That's a good point MACOJOE that I had not considered. For sure something will go on the fritz before I expect, and technology changes quick too. I'm going to have to give this some thought. Thanks

Re: V20 cc with bracket and t-top

I would read "pogies" to be Porgies, which are nice eating salt water sunfish, but that may just be because I'm from CT.

Re: Long_Island V-20

Yipes! From the registration sticker on the port side, I'd say gas and all other fluids will be an issue. Still great lines though.

Re: GPS Unit

Thanks Fluty. I think that's going to be my (only) Christmas present this year (maybe - depending on how generous Santa is feeling). I can't wait to use it (hopefully).

Re: Johnson serial/model #?

I bought it as a winter project/learning experience. I will take it apart and put it back together at least once to get more comfortable working on my Sea Drive. After all, there aren't many...

Re: GPS Unit

This is a very helpful thread as I am considering GPS for the spring and was confused about basemaps and more detailed, "uploadable" charts. Now here is another question. I would like one unit that...

Johnson serial/model #?

Can anybody help me figure out the year of a 1.5hp Johnson kicker I just bought? The serial # is E3130765 and the model # is 1R69C. Thanks.

Re: It's official. *She's home.

Boat looks great. I have the same glue mess on my starboard hatch from a cutting board. I plan on removing it w/acetone. I wonder if that was an option!

She's wrapped

Great season in CT, caught lots of blues and schoolie bass w/my four year old and took many fun trips around the Norwalk Islands and up the Saugatuck and Five Mile Rivers. The Sea Drive made it...

Re: 3-4 foot seas no sweat!

C'mon, you guys haven't even tested your v20s yet.

Back in October of '91, I was coming back from a swordfishing trip in the North Atlantic. Seems a confluence of weather conditions combined to...

Re: New Member

My bow rides high too, but I think it's just due to the lack of power. No need for speed since I typically am on the water with my 4-yr old son and 1-1/2 year old daughter.

Re: New Bimini

I would like a bimini for my Steplift. What size did you buy at E&B and how much was it? Thanks.

Re: New Member

Thanks for all the responses. The 1.6L is about 115 hp, so she is a bit pokey. The full transom is great. We have a "lounge" that goes across the transom in the cockpit, which makes for lots of...

I just found this page. I have an 86 V-20. It still has the original 1.6L OMC Sea Drive! The 1.6L provides a very "relaxed" pace and gets a lot of looks. We love our Steplift and spend a lot of time...
