Re: I got stringer problems!

Oh man, I don't like hearing about this Sea Drive and deck draining to the bilge and stringer rot. Now I've gotta look at my stringers when the shrinkwrap comes off.

Re: Repairs needed

Don't know where you are zebra, but check out the ebay auction for the '88 in the For Sale section. Lots of good parts there.

Re: Here is one on Ebay...good project maybe

Funny, as a resident of CT, I don't recall any recent storms that would cause major damage to any boat since Gloria back in the 80s!

Re: 1979 V20

GOod info crusher. I have the original camper top on my V-20 still, but want to switch to a bimini and want it stored over the bow rather than the cockpit for all the reasons mentioned above....

Tackle deals

With the cold and snow, I've been looking at my Cabelas catalogs over and over and daydreaming and plotting. Interestingly, in the Walleye edition catalog (of all places) there are some great prices...

Re: Heat wave pics

Fillet. I only get about 5k rpms WOT on the Sea Drive with the smaller prop but it's a 20 yr old motor (brave thing) so I don't know if it's a great benchmark. I left my hardware for the aft seat as...

Re: Gallery Success!...

Thanks. I saw MK's "riptide" in Cabelas. The biggest puts out 101 lbs of thrust and is designed for saltwater but is hand control only. It costs $840 :-[. It would be great for fishing around...

Re: Gallery Success!...

Looks great, i can't wait to get the shrinkwrap off my boat so I can get some real pics posted. What are your boxes made out of (love the matching scissors and pliers port and starboard) and tell me...

Re: Heat wave pics

On the prop issue, for what it's worth I use the 13-3/4" x 15" aluminum prop for my 112hp Sea Drive. The 13-1/4 x 17 wasn't getting me anywhere near 5000 rpm.

Re: Heat wave pics

Your boat looks great. The rod boxes look AWESOME! Do you still have the stern seat? I noticed the hardware for it in the deck. I have mine, it is sitting in my shed. I'm mixed on it, I left it out...

Re: Rod Storage

I can get 8-10 rods (not beautifu but it works) in the cabin on the shelves above the v-berth.

Re: Trailer axles??

Wait a minute... are you guys suggesting I'm supposed to do more with my trailer (dual axle something-or-other) than pull it out of the woods in the fall to go get my boat and then stuff it back in...

Re: New Member

I have liners beneath my transom hatches that I use for Plano boxes and other storage. The hinges are pretty shot though. You probably have the same round aireated bait well in the deck near the...

Re: How do you guys store your anchor??

My anchor is blocked vertically on the port side in the cockpit behind/next to the back-to-back seat! The chain and line are stored under the seat. I'm undecided on how much I like this setup, but I...

Re: Primer bulb

I sure hope it's not the fuel pump, because if it is I would have to replace the VRO pump assembly! While that is not a major project, it probably is $$$.

The vent is above the rub rail.

Primer bulb

I had a recurring problem late last season with my motor "bogging down." We'd be running along fine at 4000 rpm and out of nowhere the rpms drop to 1000-1200 and then pop back up into the 3000-4000...

Re: V-21 WELLCRAFT 1993 FOR SALE

Judging by the scuppers. the V-21 is sitting pretty low in the water with that F150. Pretty good info, I was looking at one of those for my V-20. Good luck.

Re: Notch my transom?

Thanks for all the feedback, this is a great forum. This is a tough decision. I have to say, the marina where I priced the Yamahas carries Hydra-Sports and I really think the Hydra-Sport DC2020 looks...

Notch my transom?

Okay, this would be a significant modification and go against all of those looking to add a bracket to their V-20s, but here's my situation: 1) I am underpowered w/the 1.6L Sea Drive and this will be...

Re: Texas V20 Fish **Cheap**

Not to be a wise guy, but anything more than $100 is too much for that thing. I couldn't even get past the sheet metal on the transom... much less the buried tires and lower unit. Not a good...

Re: Where to mount new radio?

Mine's in the cabin on the starboard side. Can't see the controls, but I can hear it fine w/o an external speaker. Real estate at the helm is too valuable for the radio.
