Re: fishing board / chat room

I thought I was seeing things when I saw MSBHAMMER as the newest member!

I'm on there as phatpony, frayed knot was already taken. You'll find me in the Neuse River chapter discussion area usually.

Re: Baby Steps

I'm an electronics technician, so wiring is child's play to me. I assure you, you don't want me sewing up a finger, or giving you a shot, or anything else a nurse practitioner may do. Mad props for...

Re: THOSE WINGS.

I've hear of cavitation plates cracking because of them, but I have no first hand knowledge of that. I don't need one, my boat doesn't porpoise and gets up on plane plenty fast.

Re: Transom Angle

BGA, it's a swim platform, not a bracket, LOL. I would mount it high enough to clear the outdrive in it's full trim up position for obvious reasons. In reality, the platform needs to be out of the...

Re: merc 470

If it's ticking at idle, it's not an octane issue. Have you checked the timing? Other than that, valve noise, or if it's loud, a bad lifter.

Re: Mercruiser Alpha 1 Outdrive - $800

Looks kinda rough to me. You could get a brand spankin new one from SEI for $1200 with a 3 year no fault warranty.

Re: Windy day

NC Coast Guard units have rescued 9 people today in 3 different incidents. All due to the weather. That is what the local news said anyway.

Re: Plywood?

Thanks a-lot fellas, just what I was looking for. Skools, who do you talk to at Parker? Do you just drive up and ask for a gal of Poly? I can get it, but I don't want to look like the village idiot...

Re: 43 mph on the river today

I hit 38 on flat calm water, but I didn't mess with the trim much. I prefer to cruise right around 28.

Plywood?

I know I have asked this before, but the search has resulted in nothing.

I need to replace the wood in my fuel tank cover, just like Schools did. I don't seem to have a "local" source for marine...

Re: Nicest CC out there

If you notice, our transoms are curved. It seems to be a unique feature. It is very difficult to find a full width bracket that mates up perfectly to our boats. MJ (I think) said he had to fill the...
