From a owner of two line sixs they can be a great motor if taken care of but if its not properly drained the water jack that runs under the exhaust manifold WILL crack!! make sure you check this area...

For the pitted dull metal I always use aluminum brite. Its great on aluminum, but due it when the frame is apart and rubber is out. this stuff is acid based.

A good place to start looking for motors is craigslist.org and click on your city. This will give you a idea of expensive motors are in your area. Be very careful of what you buy and form whom.
