It's almost time

Well fellers, after tommorrow night I may not be in for awhile. Packing up my things now and getting ready to hit the road for 2-3 weeks. Don't know if I'll have many wifi spots along the way, so may not be checking in until I get back. Going to be driving a model T up to RICHMOND INDIANA with my grandfather over the next week, and then on the 20th the 100 year anniversary of the model T in RICHMOND will begin. We're going to be taking turns driving the T while the other drives the motorhome. I should have plenty of pictures when I get back to satisfy that HAMMY guy if or when he shows back up. I'll probably chack back in SUNDAY a time or 2, but MONDAY morning were off.

Here's what we're taking up.

Ferm that is the coolest chit man, have a great trip, monday we are leaving for the annual Schultz family rendezvous in Cape May NJ. Wish I was driving a T down, I love it. It was my Dads first car, drove all over Michigan in one of those puppies and loved it.

It was my grandfathers first car as well. He still has his grandfathers MODEL T out in his shop. He pulled it out of the old family barn about 10 years ago and brought it down to FLORIDA. At least the one were taking goes a bit faster than the original T's did. This would be a LONG trip doing 30-35 the whole way, this one will run 45 easily and can be bumped up to 55 if your in a hurry.

Well, it's about bed time for me. My grandfather wants me over there early so we can hook the trailer up to the motorhome, then I have to go run to the vets office to drop the dogs off, meanwhile he'll be on the road in the T:sand:. I'll try and check in from time to time if I can. Hopefully most of the restaurants along the way will have WIFI like when I went to GATLINBURG last year.

cant believe you are DRIVING it and not towing it.......:head:

I'm jealous! Glad you're driving, not towing. Cars were meant to be driven. Whenever I take the old Beetle to shows it goes under it's own power (or lack thereof). Driving it makes the experience much more special.

Have a great trip and take lots of pics.

Well after a long 2 days we have made it to DAWSON GEORGIA. We got up Monday and got everything ready to go, and at 7:30 he was off to meet up with the others(only 2 others showed for the first leg, 10 backed out last minute). I got a phone call at 8 while I was at the vets dropping my dogs off, and one of the T's had broke down. He lost a wheel bearing and it locked up the left rear wheel:zip:.

So I go back to the house and grab the trailer since they were still close to the house and ran up and got the broke down T and hauled it back to the house. We tore the rear end out, and after an hour of trying to rebuild his 2 speed rear axle we gave up and my grandfather wheeled out a good used one he had. So by noon they were back on the road(but with a regular 3.78:1 rear axle instead of his 2 speed with a 3:1).

I head out in the motorhome by 12:20 to fuel up the motorhome, and after an hour of waiting to get into the station(only had 1 diesel pump working), we were off to play catch-up. We caught up to em in CHIEFLAND where ETHANOL caught us:cry:. The same T that had the rear end problems had never run any E-10 through his tank, s after his second tank his sediment bowl plugged up on him:sad:. They stopped in at a NAPA and got a blow chuck and we met up and took the fuel lines out and blew em out on the side of the road. This got us by to finish out the day In PERRY FL for a local car show that FORD sponsored.

We left there this morning and had a pretty good day today, only had to stop once for one car to swap some coils and change out a spark plug. Theres now 4 of us total, and by the time we made it here we all had to stop and tweak on the cars some. And the ethanol had plugged up his sediment bowl yet again, so we drained the tank and pulled it all apart and cleaned it out. So hopefully now we won't have anymore ethanol problems at least.

I'll try and check in again the next time we find wifi.
