We're In !

finally got her in the water today.
stopped by the station on the way to the ramp and put in $130. worth of regular.
30.5 gallons.
backed her down the ramp and started her up. started right up. me and my pop then proceded to take a nice leisurely cruise.
ran around at about 1,000 rpm for a bit. temp started to sneak up to about 180 degrees.
kicked it up to about 2,700 rpm and the thermostat must have been stuck.
temp shot down to about 130-140.
opened her up for about 2 minutes and backed her back down to 1,000 rpm.
putted about for another 1/2 hour or so and headed back to the dock.

one problem. . . . . when shifting back down into neutral it would stall out. started right back up again though.
i'm thinking maybe a throttle adjustment.

other than that it ran like a dog without a leash.
gonna be a few days before i get back to her.
cant wait.

oh yeah, havent been out on a weekend day for a few years.
the whole schmuck fleet was out in force.
guys flying by at 30 plus mph within 10-15 feet of us.
a big old cigarette went by full tilt.
must have burnt $130. worth of gas just going by us.

lotta a$$holes out there.

MAke sure your idle speed is right, and your shift cable to the outdrive is moving freely. If your idle is a little low it may stall dis-enageing from the shift interrupt switch.

You may actually have it set to high which will cause it to not want to disengage. I wanna say that 650-675 is where it should be at in neutral, and about 600 in gear on a V8.
