New member just bought a steplift v20

hi my name is steve and im from ri. just recently me and a good friend went halfs on a 1976 steplift v20 with a 200hp mercury. this is our 1st boat and have no boating experience, but i think we chose the perfect boat for a hell of a price the more reading on this website i do. heres a link to the boat http://providence.craigslist.org/boa/675409905.html

now we both know this is a fishing boat but were planing on using it as more of a recreational type(things that 20 year olds do). the 3 seats that came with the boat just simply isn't enough. is it possible to build a bench seat that sort of raps around the stern. has any1 done this? or is there even places that would sell something like that.

More Pictures Are Expected!!

Welcome Stevie, that will be nice when you finish it up. The stand alone benchs like the above pic may be the best setup and allow you the flexibilty to move it inside the boat where you need.
And if you have any twenty something super models to post pics of that help endear you to everyone on this board:hi:

Yeah. Welcome to the site.
Who cares about boat pics. We've got enough of them already. :hi::beer:

Welcome aboard.

Vicariously, yeah that's the ticket.

Anyway, if you are handy with wood and power tools,
I'll bet you could build something.

Stevie:

Here's a photo of a seat that I installed on my boat:

http://www.wellcraftv20.com/gallery/album06/H

It's very comfortable and has a lot of storage underneath. I installed a third tank (18 gals) there, and it still has room for spare oil, life preservers, rod holders, etc.

I bought the seat from West Marine:

http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/producte/10001/-1/10001/33813/377%20710%201302/1302/Lounge%20Seats/Primary%20Search/mode%20matchallpartial/20/Most%20Popular|1?N=377%20710%201302&Ne=1302&Ntt=Lo unge%20Seats&Ntx=mode%20matchallpartial&page=Categ oryDisplayLevel1&isLTokenURL=true&storeNum=18&subd eptNum=37&classNum=10952

I cut down the aluminum supports somewhat so that the back would sit flush with the base.

V20s are great all-around boats. Hope you enjoy yours.

thanks fitz, thats exactly what i was looking for. i wish i had the money for a seat like that. I'm going to try to build something similar to that.

A little off topic but i noticed that you also have a 200hp on the back of your v20, what are you running for top speed?
