Here We Go Again
ok, how big a job is it to change out the upper shift cable? (the one from the controller to the bracket).
also, they go by length. . . . how long is mine? are they a standard length or did wellcraft just use what they had laying around? |
Control cables
Not sure how your cables are routed but the lenght should be stamped near the end. I just installed new cables and they came in 14, 16, 18, etc foot lengths.

stamped near which end?
the end by the controller or the end by the bracket? |
Look at the cable part, it is normally wrote out in the white part number stamped on them. The part number will either start off with 2 numbers or end in 2 numbers. That is usually your length on the cable.

ok, i know the bracket end is a piece of cake. . . . . . what about the throttle end?
|
Not much different really. The hardest part will be getting your old binnacle loose to get the cable end off. Then take a piece of strong wire and connect the new cable to the old cable and use it to pull it through. The only snags should encounter will be some tie straps that may be on the bundle.
