How much crap can you pile in a rodholder?

Just started playing with this idea and haven't completed one side yet but think I got the main bugs worked out.

Each side is capable of holding 6 rods ranging from Penn 4/0 to Zebco 33 or a combination of various crap up to 7' long.
Hopefully I'll get it completed in the next week or so with a sea trial.

There ya go. Put a kick plate across the bottom and you'll have it filled with sinkers and such in no time.

chum, I like your kickplate idea.
Just got to try it out first and see if other modifications are needed.

How did you fasten those in? Looks good.

tsubaki 04-21-2008 03:00 PM

Intend to screw into the floor (that's why a couple have longer feet) and the interior side rail. They extent to the outer sides to reduce twisting (hopefully).

Done and hopeing for the best.

No real good choices for mounting location, so gonna try this.

It follows the contour of the boat and looks real strange when looking back at it, but when the rods are in it looks like a white man did it (shame I ain't).

Don't what color you are and don't care, you do good work my friend

Blue_Runner 04-22-2008 09:17 AM

If starboard wasn't so expensive you could market and sell those. If I still had my old V I'd be making some of those. Good job.
